2021 Lake Lowering

October 27, 2021

The valve will be opened on Monday, November 1st to begin the lake lowering process. The Winter pool level will be approximately 4 feet lower than the normal summer pool level.

The lake is lowered for several reasons. The main reasons include the protection of shorelines from ice, to allow for easier access to make repairs to shorelines and docks, and to relieve pressure on the dam.

Of course, the weather is the main driver in when, and if, the water reaches winter pool. It generally takes 2-3 weeks for the lake to lower to winter pool. If we experience periods of rain then it will take longer.

We can not control how fast the water lowers. The valve will be completely open as it always is in the winter.

Please contact Mike Casimir with any questions on the lake lowering process. (740-852-2593)
