Lake Water Quality Update 7/11/23 |
Below are the sample results from the 7/11/23 pull. The microcystin levels are remaining low. A sample was pulled on 7/18/23. We will keep everyone posted on the results. There is algae growth in the lake. With the calm conditions in the morning, algae is much more visible at the surface. According to test results, the existing algae has yet to produce high levels of toxin. This is an indication that most of our algae species currently in the lake are not blue-green algae. Below are the microcystin readings from our tests. Beach: 6/12: Not Detected 6/20: 0.300 ug/l 6/27: Not Detected 7/5/: 0.520 ug/l 7/11: 0.820 ug/l George’s Fork 6/12: Not Detected 6/20: Not Detected 6/27: Not Detected 7/5: 0.870 ug/l 7/11: 0.890 ug/l The EPA advisory level for no contact with public recreational water is when a lab sample states 8 ug/L. Algae Awareness: Pets, young children, and adults.
It’s that time of the year when we begin to see algae growth in our lake. We will be submitting our first lab sample this week to test for Microcystin. We will communicate test results and any treatment plans to the community. We ask that you take the time to review the below sign. These information signs are posted at the beach, marina, George’s Fork, and the dam.

Be safe, be aware, and have fun. If you have any questions, please feel free to give your Property Manager Mike Casimir a call. 740-837-0833
