Election Update: Will your vote count?

January 16, 2023

Alert: You must be a member in good standing in order for your vote to count. Please note Article II Section 4 B(1) from the CLPOA Constitution.

To reiterate the above statement, any balance that is older than 60 days will result in your vote not counting. This includes late fees, enforcement assessments such as speeding tickets, water payments, and your quarterly dues. Statements and/or invoices are sent out the first of every month to those with a balance for CLPOA and CUI. Please reference your January statement or call the office to check on your balance. The ballot counting will take place on 1/30/23. Any past-due payments will need to be processed by us prior to 1/30/23. If you mail, or have your bank process a past-due payment on the 29th or 30th, we won’t get it in time to process for the ballot counting.

Be sure your vote counts!

Thank you,

Mike Casimir

Winter Storm Plan 12/22/22

December 21, 2022

The first winter storm is set to arrive early Friday morning (12/23/22). It appears that the biggest concern will first be a flash freeze, then high winds with extremely cold temperatures. It doesn’t look like the snow total will be too significant.

Our plan is to put an application of salt on the roads beginning at 11:00 PM. The goal is to reduce the amount of freezing that will happen when the temperature quickly drops below freezing. The flash freezing is my biggest concern for the roads with this event. I recommend that you stay off the roads late Thursday into Friday morning.

We will treat the storm accordingly as the snow arrives. We don’t have enough information yet to know for certain what types of service we will need to do after our initial salting.

Our crews and equipment are ready to go!

Lake Level Update 11/30/22

November 30, 2022

On 11/28/22 we set the baffles to approximately the current lake level. Based on the size of the baffles, the lake level should actually increase by about 4 inches. This means that the water level will not lower due to the valve remaining open.

The valve is still open and will remain open until at least March 1, 2023. Should we get a couple of rain events in December that causes the lake to rise above the level of the baffles, the lake has the opportunity to drain back down to the baffle level. This is 100% based on Mother Nature. If the lake level increases and we continue to get rain, the level may not drop back down to the current level. Based on that, now is the time to take advantage of your shoreline being 100% exposed. I can not predict or control how long the level will stay at winter pool.
