Our deputies are now armed with a new piece of vital equipment: a microchip reader.
This universal microchip reader will help the deputies reunite loose or lost pets with their owners by giving them the ability to scan dogs (or cats!) for microchips. The microchip should identify the pet’s owner by providing the owner’s name, address, and phone number.
Many thanks to Choctaw Lake resident Dr. J.J. Coate of Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic and the Choctaw Lake Fundraising & Volunteers Committee for their efforts to purchase the chip reader for the lake.
Owners of dogs and cats that are not already microchipped should mark their calendars for August 5th. Dr. Coate and the Fundraising & Volunteers Committee will be hosting a microchip clinic right here at the lake. The cost to implant the microchip will be $25 per pet. Stay tuned for more details.
