Reminder: If you or someone associated with your property is pulled over for speeding, a state or lake citation will be issued. A lake citation will not be issued if a state citation is issued. If a driver does not receive a state citation, a lake citation will be issued. Per the CLPOA Rules and Regs, a first offense lake citation includes a $50.00 fee.
We all know driving at or below the speed limit is very important in our residential setting. The standard thought on roads is that if you are only driving 10 mph over the speed limit you will not get a ticket. In many cases, that may be true. That is not the case in a residential area; especially in our community.
Think about what 10 mph over in a 25 mph zone equates to in other speed limit zones.
10 mph over in a 25 mph zone is 40% over the speed limit.
40% over in a 55 mph zone is 77 mph. 40% in a 70 mph zone is 98 mph. Going this fast over the speed limit will get you pulled over, and cause significant injuries or worse if in an accident.
5 mph over in a 25 mph zone is 20% over the speed limit.
20% over in a 55 mph zone is 66 mph. 20% in a 70 mph zone is 84 mph. Twenty percent will get you pulled over.
Please be safe on the roads. Inform your contractors, delivery companies, and guest of the 25 mph speed limit throughout the Choctaw Lake Community.
