Dredge Update: August 23rd

August 23, 2017

Over the past week, approximately 900-1,000 cubic yards of sediment per day has been removed from the lake.  The pace has started off a bit slower than expected, but for good reason.  The dredging team has ran into a dense and sandier material in the cove area along Old Columbus Road.  As they move away from this area, the sludge will be more of a clay/sand mix.  This will allow for removal to reach a pace of up to 1,200 cubic yards of sediment removed per day.  Overall, the dredging team is pleased with the current progress.  The equipment is working well, and the GPS system is tracking and documenting progress.
