The Heartland team is wrapping up the excavation of the large containment area west of the maintenance yard. This area is where the water and sludge will be pumped into. The Heartland team is doing a very professional job. Although large equipment is being used, the top of line equipment they use is very quiet. If it wasn’t for the backup alarm beeping, one would not even know they were working. The quietness of their equipment is appreciated by our wildlife. The Eagles do not even seem phased. They seem to be as interested in the project as the community! They are watching closely from their home.
Dredging is still on schedule to begin Monday August 14th. Below is the work zone. My last post stated that the crew would be in each area for 3-5 days. I have been informed that it could be up to 10 days depending on size of each work area.
I will be in contact with Area 1 residents on Thursday August 10th to discuss options to dock boats during this time. If I don’t catch you at your house, I will leave a letter.
Thanks,
Mike
