After several months of planning and engineering Ohio Edison has started installation of the avian flight diverters for the protection of the Eagles here at Choctaw Lake. This project wasoriginally brought to the Choctaw Board by Dan Blazer shortly after the loss of one of the Eagles. The board wanted to reach out to Ohio Edison to see what could be done to prevent this from happening in the future. Ohio Edison sought advice from their environmental scientists and are engineering the protection scheme along with the located spans of wires and locations to attach the markers at Choctaw Lake. There are 88 markers planned to be installed. The Old Columbus Road section is already underway.
Thanks to Ohio Edison and their team for assisting us with this very important endeavor.
