As a new Board of Trustees Committee our main purpose is to provide a means for fundraising projects, and community volunteer recruitment for the betterment of our community by staying outside of the funds appropriated from home owner’s dues. These projects could include necessary additions and updates to our assets, and/or projects designed to enhance the community and lake’s activities.
The Committee’s primary goals are threefold:
Raise money for our Lake’s General Fund. This will be accomplished by hosting a number of events throughout the year, and any funds generated will be presented to the Board for inclusion in to the General Fund for overall lake expenditures. In addition, the Committee will work to build solid relationships with other Lake Committees with the goal of assisting them in their fundraising efforts. Any committee that has a need will receive assistance from Fundraising & Volunteers to raise money for their individual group for approved projects.
Another primary goal is to become a recruitment tool for volunteers in our community willing to help out the various clubs and committees with their special projects, or projects this committee may ask the Board for approval on. A Master List of Volunteers has been formed, and is being kept by our Secretary. This database of volunteers will be made available to any and all clubs or committees who might need assistance.
Thirdly, this Committee will also conceptualize its own community projects, and with Board and community support, pursue the fundraising and materials to complete them.
For the purpose of collecting donations all monies collected by this Committee will be channeled to the Lake Office for the purpose of accounting. The Office has already created a line item for possible donations in our accounting system. The Committee is looking into the possibility of becoming a non-profit 501c3 organization, at which time donations would become tax deductible for our benefactors. This will be brought to the Board at the proper time if the Committee thinks it is in our community’s best interest to pursue it after further investigation.
