The Choctaw Musicians Club is an organization that enables Choctaw-area musicians to gather, interact, and learn from each other for the purpose of promoting music throughout the community.
It is an open club and welcomes musicians of all levels of accomplishment. The club provides venues where live music can be performed. For example, the Musicians Club sponsors the “Music Socials” held at the lodge during the cold months of the year. Another purpose of the club is to increase the well being of Choctaw-area residents by hosting live music social events that residents of all ages can enjoy. So, not only can musicians gather and interact, but the entire community has the opportunity to do the same.
The club generates funds through promoting live events and by offering musical products such as CDs for sale. Its latest CD is called “A Slice of Paradise” and is for sale at the Lakeside Plaza. It features over 1 hour of classic rock and country songs. The club endeavors to buy items for the lake community where both the club members and the lake community can benefit.
The Musicians Club is now in its third year of operation. It has been able to donate items such as a Bose Sound System now used by the CLPOA for its meetings in the lodge, stage lighting and over ½ of the cost of a new stage for the lodge.
