Your Guide to Celebrate July 4th Weekend at Choctaw Lake

June 28, 2017

It’s always a great day at Choctaw Lake, but this weekend promises to be an extra fine time to call Choctaw Lake home.

Our fellow neighbors – business owners and committee members – have gone above and beyond this year to make this extended weekend a fun one! Check out the links below and then join in on the fun!

The celebration starts this Saturday, July 1 with the First Annual Poker Run.

The Fundraising and Volunteer Committee is sponsoring this. You pay $10 and then follow the clues in your non-motorized boat around the lake. The participant with the best hand wins and takes home 1/2 the pot. Make sure to register! Have guests for the weekend? No problem, have them register and join in the game, too. Must be 18 years or older to participate.

Community Fun and Fireworks

The celebration starts in earnest on Monday, July 3rd. Crace and Associates of e-Merge Real Estate has sponsored a day packed full of treats. Start at the beach at 1:30 for treats, and then head over to the Crace’s dock at 3 for goodies. Fireworks, are of course, at the dam at 9:45

Wrap it up with a fishing tournament

Don’t stay up too late with the fireworks on Monday night because you’ll want to rise on Tuesday in time for the 6 am launch to participate in the annual fishing tournament, sponsored by The Dock at Choctaw Lake and Ernie’s Medicine Shoppe.

Office will be closed July 3rd and 4th!

One last reminder that our lake office will be closed July 3rd and 4th to celebrate the Independence Day Holiday. If you need a boat sticker or miscellaneous vehicle registration sticker, Friday June 30th will be your last chance to obtain one before the holiday weekend!

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers!
