After careful consideration, it has been decided to reschedule the Independence Day events and fireworks to Saturday, September 5th.
We understand that this is a disappointment to many. Fourth of July at Choctaw Lake is a very special day. It’s one of the highlights of the year.
By moving it to Labor Day weekend, we feel that we accomplish two things. The first and most important aspect is everyone’s safety. Our hopes are that we are in a much better place come September than we are today.
By being in a better place come September, we feel that we can have a great End of Summer Event! More details will be announced as we continue to plan for Labor Day weekend. Our goal is to combine all the fun events of Independence Day and Community days to create an awesome two-day event to celebrate summer and our COMMUNITY!
We appreciate everyone’s understanding of this very difficult decision. The good news is that Independence Day will still happen. Like every celebratory event since Mid-March, it will be different. Like every celebratory event since Mid-March, it can still be very positive, emotional, and bring families closer. The day will be as wonderful and memorable as each of us makes it.
Sincerely,
CLPOA Board of Trustees
