Lake Operations During Flooding

May 17, 2023

Last weekend, we experienced lake flooding. While the lake is flooded and out of the banks, the lake is considered closed to motorized watercraft. When staff is available, we will patrol the water as needed. In future cases, we will get communication out via MailChimp and signs. The emailer or social media does not cover everyone; just as this email will not reach everyone. Everyone will not see signs posted. I ask that you speak with your families, guest, and neighbors about not using the lake while water is out of the banks, or very high. This is an item that everyone needs to work together on.

The reason for closing the lake during high water is due to the high potential of damage to shorelines and personal property along shorelines. The high water alone puts boats, docks, and shorelines at risk for damage. Adding waves to the situation will cause major issues.

Thank you for your help,

Mike Casimir
