Unfortunately, the Old Columbus Storage lot is turning into a junkyard or a free for all. I am requesting your help to turn things around. A few of the items are on me. We got behind on the weed control. Last week we sprayed Roundup, and yesterday the guys used a weedeater to trim the tall weeds down.
The Old Columbus Lot is to be used to store your watercraft and watercraft trailer, and RV’s. I am fine with a car or box truck being parked there. The issue we currently have is that we have piles of rip rap, steel storage boxes, mattresses, and watercraft that are unusable with parts missing. We also have parking issues.
Parking:
See the picture below. The boxes in red indicate trailers or RV’s that are parked in nonrental spots. They are blocking access roads. I will begin moving trailers outside the locked area and/or issuing fines for improper use. The green box indicates spots where some spaces have two or three items parked in them. If you are parked in this area, please double-check that you are not more than 30′ from the fence. I will measure them within the next 7 days. I will contact you if your item needs to be moved.

The CLPOA Rule & Regulation 33 (Maintenance of Property) does pertain to the storage lots. If I view your space as an eyesore, I will be reaching out to discuss, and agree, on a cleanup plan. If you haven’t looked at your storage space in a while, I ask that you take a look in the next week. Please remove any items that do not belong. This includes rip rap, trash, storage boxes, broken down watercrafts, etc.
Many people will start to put their boats away after Labor Day. We need to have the lot back in order to avoid access issues by all renters.
Also, if you do not know your spot, please call me or the office before parking. We can look it up on our website to tell you the correct space you rented. You can also find your location by visiting https://choctawlake.com/storage-rental/
Thank you,
Mike Casimir
