Paving the way…

November 8, 2017

Hello,

Mother Nature has been throwing some curve balls, but the paving crews have been doing a great job of fighting them off.  Today, 11/8, I got up close and personal with the asphalt crew.  It’s amazing how fast a truck load of asphalt is being installed.  It’s about 2 minutes, tops!  It was cool to hear the sizzling of the asphalt as it is being installed and rolled.  I am impressed with how each crew member has a responsibility, and they stick to it.  I know by some it may seem as some are standing around… to me that’s a sign of a very efficient process.  Each crew member performs their task and stays out of the way of the next person.

Unfortunately, the original completion goal of November 10th will be missed.  As you know, this is due to rain and we will have a cold temperature delay.  All good reason to delay this project.  The project is on track to be completed by end of next week (November 17th)

Below are a few videos of the operation:  Click on the link to view.
