Hello – For the next 2 months, we will rerun the ever-popular CLPOA Rule of the Week.
All rules can be found under the Governing Documents tab on the Choctaw Lake website. Please note that all state and federal rules/laws apply to our community. Strongly encourage those laws are followed….consequences are much more than a lake fine.
We will start off with the Open Fire rules. Please refrain from burning your landscape and spring cleanup debris. Note that there is a $100.00 fine associated with this rule violation. Help me avoid issuing that. Below is the rule as written in Rules and Reg. Again, be advised that all state rules around fires also apply.
- Open Fires:
(1) Campfires. Property owners shall not burn leaves, twigs, branches, or grass clippings on any place on their lot(s) outside their dwelling, except if in the actual process of cooking food in a barbecue or over a “campfire.” At no time shall open fires be left unattended by a responsible adult. Property owners shall have sufficient equipment and materials readily available to quickly extinguish any “campfire.” Persons violating this Rule 35(J)(1) shall be subject to a penalty of $100.00.
(2) Burning of Other Materials. Persons burning other materials, especially construction debris, shall be subject to a fine not less than $250 at the discretion of the Property Manager.
In addition, Please be aware that Ohio has an open burning ban in March, April, and May from 6:00AM – 6:00PM. This is a state requirement. Being in a private community does not exempt us from this.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Mike Casimir
Property Manager
