Safety Alert!

September 1, 2017

Hello,

As we inch closer to fall, sunrise is later and sunset is earlier.  Combine this with the morning fog, we have a hazardous situation for walkers and children waiting for the school bus.  What was once a nice sunny hour to walk, may now be a period of darkness.

Drivers: Please obey the speed limit.  With our curvy roads, pedestrians can be hard to see at times.  Please ensure your headlights are on at all times during the morning and evening hours.  Feel free to drive a few miles below the speed limit during dark hours.

Walkers:  Please be sure to always walk facing traffic.  Wearing bright colors and/or apparel with reflective features will help the drivers see you.  Most running and walking gear now include reflective capabilities.

Everyone:  Please pay attention to the buses and STOP when a bus is stopped.

Thanks everyone for doing your part to maintaining a safe community,
