Hi Everyone,
Asking for some help. Over the Labor Day weekend, boat patrol and road patrol cited six residents for underage operation of golf carts and jet skies. More than likely, there were more occurrences of this. Six were witnessed and cited. I also received 3 tickets for jet skies going over 40 mph.
Our staff will continue to do their best to enforce as they see these types of violations.
My ask to the community is this: The decision to operate a golf cart or jet ski underage is made prior to entering association grounds, roads, or the lake. My staff and I don’t make that decision. Please make the safe decision for your child and your neighbors by not allowing anyone under the age of 16 to operate a jet ski alone. If between the ages 12-16, you must have a passenger of at least 18 years old.
You must be 16 and have a driver’s license to drive a golf cart or ATV. Please do not allow this to happen with your cart or ATV. It is still a violation if a parent is sitting next to an underage driver.
Thank you for your help. The decision to violate these lake and state rules are made well before entering the association grounds, and well before being caught by the patrol staff.
Mike
