Speeding on the lake

June 8, 2022

Boat patrol has been documenting some high speeds on the lake. Unlike the roadways, we can only point to residents and guests of residents for speeding issues. There are no delivery companies or contractors operating boats and jet skies. Since Memorial Day weekend, boat patrol recorded speeds of 45, 54, 47, 55, and 45. One of these violations was in a no-wake zone.

Our boat patrol team will continue to enforce the best they can. However, if they are needing to enforce, a decision to be unsafe has already happened. I know the entire community does not read these messages. Any help spreading the word is appreciated. Lake safety and lake enjoyment is a result of how those on the water choose to operate.

The speed limit is 35 mph during the day. Idle speed in all areas during dusk/evening, nighttime, and before daylight.
