This week the Garden Club tree planting project was completed. I am very pleased with how this project went. The addition of the trees greatly enhanced each park along the walk path.
It’s important to recognize the efforts for this project. Chad Brown Electric donated his time and equipment to unload the trees from the delivery truck and to install the trees. The donation includes his personal time and the use of two Bobcat loaders. One loader had a 36″ auger for planting and the other had tree forks to move and set the trees in the holes. This project would have been much more difficult and costly if not for Chad’s donation.
Ed Mickelson, Choctaw resident, played a big role in the planting design for each park. He offered his expertise to select the different variety of trees.
Big shout out to Colleen Wolford, Terry Clevenger, Pete Weber, and Dave Roese. This group installed 34 trees in one day. That’s hustling!!
Lastly, Thanks so much to the Garden Club for the $10,000.00 donation for this project. I encourage the community to keep supporting the Garden Club events. I would love to plant phase II next fall!
Hope everyone enjoys the new trees during their walk on the paths!
