Everything went as planned on Wednesday 11/1. We drained and opened up each of the four treatment filters. This allowed us to inspect for media loss and condition of the media. Our Kurita Water tech found no issues with the media. We also exercised our check valves during high-flow operations. A couple of adjustments were made to the valves that significantly improved how they shut down during high flow.
Inspection items on Thursday 11/2 include:
- Inspect the filter backwashing operations. Filter backwash is a weekly operation that cleans the treatment filters.
- Analyze the Variable Frequency Drive for the high-service pumps. The goal is to improve the deceleration of the pumps during high-flow operations. For this operation, a programmer from Kurita Water and our service partner from HP Thompson, VFD supplier, will be involved.
- Brainstorm options to improve lightning protection.
Please flush your faucets before use. Operations could cause disruption in the distribution system. 11/2 will be the last day of the service visit.
