The first winter storm is set to arrive early Friday morning (12/23/22). It appears that the biggest concern will first be a flash freeze, then high winds with extremely cold temperatures. It doesn’t look like the snow total will be too significant.
Our plan is to put an application of salt on the roads beginning at 11:00 PM. The goal is to reduce the amount of freezing that will happen when the temperature quickly drops below freezing. The flash freezing is my biggest concern for the roads with this event. I recommend that you stay off the roads late Thursday into Friday morning.
We will treat the storm accordingly as the snow arrives. We don’t have enough information yet to know for certain what types of service we will need to do after our initial salting.
Our crews and equipment are ready to go!
